Prerequisites work in conjuction with rider classes and allow the ride sponsor to ensure riders have achieved a certain degree of compentancy before they're allowed to choose certain rider classes. For instance using the example in the previous section, the MTF chose to set prerequisites for each rider class. 50CC riders were required to be an IBA member while 100CCC riders were required to have completed a certified ride of 2000 miles or more.
Each rider class can have zero or more prerequisites. If prerequisites exist for the chosen rider class, the rider must choose one before continuing the registration process.
